✨ Have you always wanted to learn to freedive but never found the chance?
✨ Always dreamed of swimming with whale sharks but never had the opportunity?
✨ Longed to be surrounded by passionate, ocean-loving women but never knew where to find them?
Freediving has the power to transform the way you connect with the ocean and with yourself. The feeling of diving without a tank is nothing short of magical, and there is no better classroom than the crystal-clear cenotes of the Yucatán.
On this retreat, Girls That Scuba will bring together a group of adventurous women for an unforgettable journey of learning, connection, and discovery. You will take your first steps into freediving, experience the unique beauty of cenote diving, and share it all alongside an empowering community of like-minded women.
This is not just another trip. It is our 10th Freedive Retreat 🎉. Join us as we celebrate a milestone in one of the most awe-inspiring freedive destinations on the planet. Will you be part of it? 🌊💙
No freediving experience is required to join this retreat, in fact, we prefer if you come without any, so you can truly absorb and enjoy the full learning journey. There’s no need to prepare with freediving training in advance. Just bring yourself, your adventurous spirit, and we’ll guide you step by step into this incredible new skill.
Our jungle condo is the dream base for this retreat. It’s tucked away in the middle of the jungle but only about 2 miles from downtown Tulum, so you get the best of both worlds. And the best bit? We’ve rented the whole place just for Girls That Scuba.
You’ll have your own big private apartment with a king-size bed, A/C, full bathroom, a kitchen stocked with a coffee machine, plus a living room and rooftop garden with sunbeds. Oh, and did we mention there are two pools and hot tubs? It’s pretty much paradise.
We’ll have tasty, healthy breakfasts together every morning (apart from the early whale shark day) and six evenings of alfresco dinners cooked just for us.
The vibe
This retreat is all about slowing down, connecting, and spending time in the cenotes. It’s not a trip for partying in Tulum town or hanging on the beach clubs. We’ll pop into town a couple of times for group dinners, but mostly we’ll stay in our own little jungle bubble—our slice of paradise away from the crowds.
So just a heads-up when signing up: this isn’t about “doing Tulum,” it’s about freediving, community, and enjoying a calm, magical setting with incredible women.

Because freediving involves breath-holding and significant physical engagement, we ask all participants to be physically fit, healthy, and open-minded. While SSI Level 1 is included, it’s important to know that the qualification isn’t guaranteed. If our instructors assess that you need more time or additional preparation to meet the course standards, they may recommend further practice

I can’t say enough about how truly amazing this trip was. I have been wanting to do this freediving course with GTS for years and finally had my chance. The timing was perfect because the people I met who were once strangers are now people that I wouldn’t hesitate to travel with again. Our host was lovely and kept the energy going throughout our stay. Our instructors were remarkable and took the time to address any issues we might have been experiencing. If you have been considering this trip and we’re just waiting for the perfect time, it’s now!

Had an absolutely amazing time on this freedive retreat with Amancay and GTS. The week was very well organised, the airbnb was beautiful, absolutely enjoyed learning from our fearless instructors—Rose, Sarah and Cara, and diving in the BEAUTIFUL cenotes of Quintana Roo! The best part of the trip was the group and the people ♥️ It was so wonderful to meet like minded yet so different, strong, powerful, inspiring women! Thank you to the team for bringing us together and for organising this fabulous retreat! 🫶🏽

What an incredible trip! The apartments were beautiful and the grounds were amazing! All of the instructors were great, Cara in particular was so helpful and supportive. The whale shark day was just epic and the cenote scuba diving was otherworldly. I had a blast and made lifelong connections with the other gals on the trip. 💜

This trip was life changing! Everyone at Amancay Freediving was absolutely fabulous. Combining freediving with a retreat was the best combination ever. Learning to relax in the beautiful waters of the Mayan cenotes, and the most beautiful accommodation, really made this retreat wonderful. The food was more than delicious, and the separate activities (whale sharks and cavern diving) were just the cherry on top. I can’t wait to return for the training retreat in the coming years!
