About this trip

Quick Facts:

Dates: 5 - 15 Jan 2026

Type of trip: All female liveaboard
Duration: 10 nights
Fly in/out: Sorong Airport; Domine Eduard Osok Airport Sorong (SOQ)

Let's start 2026 with a BANG on the most epic girls trip! January is our favourite time to get away - especially to the scuba diving mecca that is RAJA AMPART! Marine life does not get any more prolific than in Raja Ampat. So far, over 1500 species of fish have been recorded, 537 corals and nearly 700 mollusc species. Almost all of the hard coral species to be found in the coral triangle can be found here. While scuba diving Raja Ampat, you will find wobbegong, dolphins, manta rays, turtles, whales, nudibranchs, lionfish, sea dragons, giant trevallies and so much more. Nearly 300 fish species were once counted in a single dive! It's not just ALL about diving though, we will be taking an excursion on land to visit one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world, and visit a local community who live off the ocean around them.

Our floating home

The Amira will be our home for the 10 days in Raja Ampat. Amira is a wooden boat built locally by indigenous craftsmen according to ancient Pinisi ship builders’ traditions. The boat is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation and security system and top-notch rescue equipment. Amira is 52 meters long and offers 10 comfortable cabins, each equipped with a personal shower, toilet and natural lighting. In addition, there is a cozy restaurant, a romantic lounge and a very spacious sun and dive deck. The dive deck is a generously designed space where every diver has their own designated space to gear up, it holds several rinse tanks, plenty of surface space and a large camera room.

Girls that Scuba stayed on this boat on our 2019 Komodo liveaboard and 2024 Raja Trip and fell in love with its traditional structure and its large space - hence why this is our 3rd time back! All cabins have twin beds perfect for solo female divers.

I just got back from the 10 Day GTS Maldives 2025 trip and it did not disappoint! This trip blew my mind! In summer it’s rainy season so visibility is not the “best” bc of all the plankton in the water. There’s also some weather periodically, BUT bc of this you have larger pelagic animals like sharks, whale sharks, and mantas! I’m from Florida and dive all the time. My primary goal was to get as much time with mantas and whale sharks and I did! We got to see them both and for longer time than the last trip 2024 got to I heard! The largest manta ray aggregation in the world is located in Hanifaru Bay, within the Baa Atoll, in the Maldives. During the southwest monsoon season (roughly May to November), these gentle giants gather to feed on the abundant zooplankton concentrated in the bay. Drones are used to locate the mantas and then it’s go time! We also have seen whale sharks twice off the back of our boat where I got to snorkle with them for 2 hours!!! People watch for them and sound the alarm when spotted. Which I heard was very lucky! We also got to scuba dive with many mantas as well where they have “cleaning stations” which was not guaranteed they would even be there same time as us. They travel around a lot. On one of our scuba dive sessions we had a whale shark above us! This is my second GTS trip (last was Jordan 2024) and I found it to be very well done, they tried their best to make sure we were accommodated, were able to see what we set out to see and came on the trip for. If you love sharks the last couple dives were focused on that. We also did a night dive with a lot of juvenile sharks. On other dives I used a reef hook for the very first time which I found to be very convenient, a lot of fun, and easy to use. You hook and see rays and sharks and spotted eagle rays pass you by. Do not let fear control you. I also learned a few things on this trip. I did almost every dive which was 22 dives. I would encourage you to try to do every dive until you have at least seen everything you set out for if you can. Some girls skipped a dive and missed scuba diving with all the mantas passing us by under and above and around, but saw the mantas snorkeling by chance again on their own. Bring ear drops towards the end I needed them and was 100% with them. I would do this trip again. All the guides were dive instructors. The white pearl was sooooo comfortable and many amenities. I loved being on this yacht.

I hardly know where to start! I travelled to Thailand (Phuket) for a 12 day adventure with Girls that Scuba in April 2025 and it was, without a doubt, the best dive trip I've taken since I started diving regularly in 2023. The dive sites were beautiful...so vibrant! The Phinisi live aboard was incredible. Every member of the crew from the captain to the chef made me feel welcome and safe. The food was INCREDIBLE. The dive guides were experts on the sites we saw and they were very attentive to us on board and below the surface. We were greeted after every dive with a refreshing drink and a smile. The cabins were spotless with comfy beds and a bathroom (so nice!). I can go on and on about my experience on board The Phinisi but there's more! After several days at sea we settled into our resort in Phuket for a week of land excursions and shopping. GTS does a great job balancing diving and land excursions. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable - no task masters! Again, the food was incredible and there was plenty of it! At the end of the trip I had 17 news friends and didn't hesitate to put down a deposit for a trip to the Maldives in August 2026. I whole heartedly recommend traveling with GTS. I'm a lifer.

There were so many amazing aspects of the Thailand GTS trip. From start to finish, everything was seamlessly organized. The diving was as beautiful and awe-inspiring as expected. The boat crew was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. I was impressed by how quickly they assisted with every aspect of diving and life aboard the boat. Weeks later, I’m still missing the fresh smoothies and bottomless cookie jars waiting for us after each dive! The “Thailand Above” portion was equally impressive, with a full yet not overwhelming schedule. Each day’s adventure was thoughtfully planned and offered a great variety, allowing us to experience so much of Phuket. Our local guide was with us each day on land and was absolutely wonderful. I really appreciated how they tailored our itinerary to the group’s interests and were always happy to make a Thai tea or shopping detour. And finally, we were so lucky to have not one, but two incredible GTS guides. Amy and Charlotte went above and beyond from the very beginning. They were quick to answer every question leading up to the trip and, once in Thailand, they were joyful, present, and personable. I’m genuinely looking forward to staying in touch with them—and with all the amazing women on our trip.

An absolutely amazing experience in Socorro Islands with one of the BEST diving, the best group of girls, crew and staff, and delicious food throughout our journey. The long boat ride was totally worth it and I enjoyed every moment of it! Highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure of a lifetime :D
